Warcross by Marie Lu follows a teenage hacker/bounty hunter, Emika Chen, in a futuristic New York City. Emi makes a living by tracking down illegal gamblers in the brain-computer interface game known as Warcross. Unfortunately, her profits aren’t enough to save her from eviction, leading her to steal power ups at the Warcross Championships. She does get caught, but instead of being arrested, Emi gets hired by the creator of Warcross, Hideo Tanaka, to find an elusive hacker known as Zero.
Its summertime and Greg Heffley is looking forward to playing video games and spending time with his friends. Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story, directed by Neil Blomkamp at Sony Productions, and starring Archie Madweke, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell, Djimon Hounsou, Orlando Bloom, and David Harbour, came to theaters on August 25, 2023 (Rotten Tomatoes). It provides insight on something many of the watchers cannot experience personally: racing professionally on a racetrack.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is another amazing entry in the franchise. The story is much stronger taking place directly after Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild when exploring beneath Hyrule Castle Zelda and Link awaken Gannon and then they proceed to fall down a great chasm. Link awakens helped by a spirit Rauru to a new arm and a broken master sword.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is a thrilling dystopian sci-fi novel set in the year 2044, where most of humanity seeks escape from their bleak reality through a massive virtual reality universe called the OASIS. When the creator of the OASIS, James Halliday, passes away, he leaves behind a challenging Easter Egg hunt within the virtual world. The first person to find the hidden Easter Egg will inherit Halliday's vast fortune and control over the OASIS.
Rating: 4 My rating for this book is a 4 because the book is great, and I love all of Gordan Korman's writing. Most of his writing consists of some sort of transitions throughout the book whether it be perspectives or time period. The only reason I am giving this a 4 is because of the changes in time during the book. Some readers might have difficulty grasping those changes.
Animal Crossing: Deserted Island Diary is a graphic novel story that follows four goofy characters, Coroyuki, Benben, Himepoyo, and Guchan, as they try to create the island of their dreams. I absolutely loved this book, and it is great for fans of the Animal Crossing game. Plus, there are bonus pages for game information and a look at the author’s island. This book truly deserves five stars.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the most recent new Zelda game. It feels very unique as opposed to older Zelda games, which, while good in their own right, often followed a dull and very similar pattern. Breath of the Wild, or BOTW, changes this up, giving players the freedom to explore the world and complete tasks in any order that they see fit, or even skip tasks completely.
Level 13 is an amazing book and sequel to the original Slacker novel. I loved the original novel and wondered if Gordan Korman was ever going to make another book about Cameron Boxer.
